My mentors name is Sneha. Her blog link is sneha-apex-2017.weebly.com. She didn't take art one she went straight into art two. She has taken art 2, 3 and is now in AP Art. She is interested in painting. I would like to have someone to help me with my art and give me advice.

I think I was very successful with getting the shape and shading of the animals right. If i could do this again i would focus more on the small details such as the snake skin and eyes. I could improve on making the textures of the animals more realistic.
Charcoal There are different types of charcoal such as vine charcoal, stick charcoal, and charcoal pens. You start by using vine charcoal to make an even grey background. After that you start drawing and shading with the different types of charcoal. the stick charcoal is the darkest and is the best for shading. The charcoal pen can be used for outlining and drawing small details. It can be very messy but with charcoal it is very easy to get dark values. Also, if you make a mistake you can just blend it into the background. Artist Wenyi wanders the streets of his home Dali, Yunnan Province, China to find his canvases. He picks up old pieces pf trash and uses them as a blank canvas. Wendi finds old cardboards pieces in piles of trash, paints them and then puts them back in their original spot. Wendyi's goals is to incorporate art into the everyday lives of the people in his home city.
Wenyi is interesting to me because he uses something many of us would never think of to use as his blank canvas. He is so passionate about art and wants everybody to be able to see his work so he paints on very random items. This is the first time I have seen n artist who does this and think it is very inspiring. |
