Final ProjectFor my final project i chose to do cinemagraphs because i was interested in them and the way they looked. At first i brainstormed ideas of what i could do. Those are shown in the picture above. Next i went and filmed the video and cut out the part i want to be moving. I think my ideas were successful but if i were to do it again i would work on making the part that is cut out to be more exact.

Final Exam1. Art Criticism Process: Step 1: Describe- tell exactly what you see Step 2: Analyze- use the elements/principles to reflect upon the art form Step 3: Interpret- What is the artist trying to say? What caused the artist to say it? Is there any historical meaning that surrounds the work? Why was it made in that style? Step 4: Evaluate- How successful or important is the work? 2.A blog post that does not represent my ability to critique my art work. This piece of art does not represent my ability because it was my first painting project and the background i chose was fabric which was very hard to add value to and make look realistic. 3. Critique your piece from #2 using the process in #1. The piece above was made using many vibrant colors. This piece is not very realistic and does not have much value or depth to it. The lines in this piece are bold and thick. The artitst is trying to represent items that may represent their life. The items the artist painted may be important to them and their life. This person may be a home body because the items painted reflect that such as the ice cream and mug. I do not think there is a historical aspect to this. I think this piece was semi successful beacuse it portrayed the artists life and some parts were successful but it did not hace much value and lide to it. 1. What is art? Art is a way for the artist to express their feelings and creativity. Art can be an outlet for some people. Some people let their emotions and feelings out through their art. Art can also be a way for somebody to describe themselves throught their work. It can also be a way for people to connect with each other. For some people it might just be a way to showcase their creativity. 2.What was the warm up or sketchbook assignment that you learned most from? The warm up I learned most from was the one we did in the beginning of the year learning how to shade different values. This was the most helpful because it is a basic skill that you need if you want to do anything in art no matter the medium. Shading with different values was used in almost every project. 3.Illustration Fridays have been completed almost every week this semester, do you feel this assignment helped you brainstorm for main project or helped you skill levels in any way? Why, or why not? Doin an illustration friday almost every week has definitely helped me. It helped me increase my creativity and my skills. It also gave me the chance to practice with any medium I would like. If i was more interested in painting while we were doing drawing I could do that in an illustration Friday. #1- What is art #2-Blog post I learned the most from #3-Illustration Friday
sculpture piecei first started by rolling out the clay and putting it on top of a bowl and letting it dry for a little bit to get the shape. After that I smoothed it out with my hands and fixed any parts that I wanted to. After that I let it dry for a little and painted the sgrafitto glaze over it and carved out my design. I fired it after that and I was done.
i wanted to do this because i wanted to do something that I would use. I would make the design more clean and the white parts more white instead of grey. I would sign up for sculpture. I first started by choosing what I wanted to print. I chose a pineapple because I thought it would look really cool with the ink. I sketched it out in my sketchbook and scribbled on the back and then traced it onto the rubber piece. I went over that with permanent marker and then starting carving. After I was done carving I did a test piece to see if I needed to carve anymore and then did my final. I incorporated the theme of line by drawing lines in the background. If I were to change something it would be the background in some part because it doesn't show up in some places.
The idea of this was to have a bunch of colorful origami hearts all over the wall spelling out the word love. I think this was successful because you can see the word we are spelling out and you can tell that the origami pieces are hearts. I think it would have been better if we used colored paper instead of outlining them.
